LDA is used to treat all types of allergy, sensitivity, and intolerance to inhalants, foods, and chemicals. It is used to treat such conditions as seasonal allergies, asthma, food allergies and can treat autoimmunity. LDA is different from conventional allergy therapy because it is not desensitization therapy. It instead works to decrease the histamine response to allergens in the first place by regulating antibody production.
LDA works by restoring your body’s natural, active immunity to specific environmental antigens and allergens, which have been lost through allergy and autoimmune disease. It uses broad-based mixtures of allergens (antigens) that are made immunologically active by the enzyme glucuronidase in extremely low doses. There is an increase in T regulatory cells (Treg) following the administration of the LDA. Treg cells correct inappropriate cellular responses to substances promoted by CD4 (helper), CD8 (killer), and B cells (the immune system has tried to protect you from things such as food, environmental irritants, or even your own tissues). Simply put, this stops an allergic or adverse reaction.
LDA is administered under the tongue. Treatments are initially given every two months. As you progress, the treatments become more frequent until they are taken yearly. In some cases, patients can stop their treatment without experiencing allergy symptoms again for an extended period of time. Some patients stop after 16 to 18 treatments or go a long time without appointments. In most cases, patients will see improvement within three treatments. It may take up to 12 doses to produce good results in cases of extreme and severe allergies.
The results of an LDA treatment are often felt immediately, but some may need more time to realize the full potential of LDA. Approximately 60% of patients note a significant positive response after their first treatment, and almost all have responded positively by the third treatment. Patients with food allergies or intolerance may not notice sustained improvement for three to six doses, and severely reactive foods may take two years to become tolerable.
Alternatively, approximately 1 in 25 patients does not achieve strong positive results until after 6 treatments. LDA has an overall response rate of 65-95%, depending on the condition treated.
Treatment with LDA is safe and effective for easing immune reactions, including:
